A Free Comprehensive Chemical Drawing Package
ChemWindow is the software chemists choose for chemical structure drawing and publishing worldwide. It also offers integrated solutions to modify, store, search, and retrieve chemical structures and properties. ChemWindow offers scientists even more solutions. 2D Chemical Structure Drawing. The Chem4Word add-in stores the chemical structures as Chemical Mark-up Language (CML) in the aforementioned Custom XML Parts then renders the structure inside a Custom Control using Drawing ML. The Chem4Word add-in also allows the user to depict the structure by one of its textual descriptors.
ACD/ChemSketch Freeware is a drawing package that allows you to draw chemical structures including organics, organometallics, polymers, and Markush structures. It also includes features such as calculation of molecular properties (e.g., molecular weight, density, molar refractivity etc.), 2D and 3D structure cleaning and viewing, functionality for naming structures (fewer than 50 atoms and 3 rings), and prediction of logP. The freeware version of ChemSketch does not include all of the functionality of the commercial version — see a brief overview of the differences.
